A community garden in North Yorkshire is benefiting from the use of Yorganics compost.
Following a request from members of the Aldwark Community Garden, near Thirsk, we donated 30 bags of our 100% recycled, nationally accredited, peat-free compost.
The compost has been mixed with soil and put in raised beds made by the volunteers, who are striving to create a place for the local community to gather and “potter”.
Fruit and vegetables have been planted in the beds.
Volunteer Pauline Carradice said: “We are not aiming for a Chelsea garden, just somewhere nice to meet up outside and enjoy the our surroundings.
“We have tried to use as much donated and recycled materials as possible, so the Yorganics compost perfectly complements this.
“We very much appreciate the kind donation of compost.”
Sam Wright, Yorganics’ Field Sales Executive, said: “We were pleased to have been able to donate bags of Yorganics to such a great community initiative and we look forward to seeing the fruits of the group’s efforts.”
