Horticulture conference

Yorganics will be one of the exhibitors at the Askham Bryan College 2019 Horticulture Conference.

The conference, on Thursday 24th January, consists of a day full of expert talks & exhibitions aimed at students, those considering a future in the industry and local professionals.

The theme of the conference is ‘A Career in Joy’, which is intended to promote the positive aspects of working in the industry.

The speakers are:

  • Geoff Derham (Yorwaste) – Waste as a Resource
  • Zeina Chapman (Liberty Produce) – Vertical Farming
  • Danny Green* (Hortus Loci) – Show Plant Manager
  • Jamie Butterworth* (RHS Ambassador) – Horticulture Careers
  • George Metcalfe* & Tom Watkins* (Johnson’s of Whixley) – Life after College
  • Mark Warner (Plate to Plate) – Compost Microbusiness
  • Di Hammill (Wild Harvest) – Foraging & Wild Medicines

The conference is free to attend,  however, places must be reserved in advance by emailing Tim Linward by emailing tim.linward@askham-bryan.ac.uk and by signing in at the Conference Centre on the day.
